Insurtech expert joins McKenzie Intelligence Services

ACII qualified Rosina Smith joins McKenzie Intelligence Services as Head of Product, bringing a wealth of insurtech knowledge and expertise to the team

London, 22nd March, 2021: Geospatial imagery and re/insurance intelligence company McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) is delighted to announce that Rosina Smith has joined the growing team as Head of Product.

Rosina joins from start-up Insurdata, where she was Head of Client Success, and brings with her a wealth of experience from the insurtech sector. Her time with Insurdata saw her responsible for insurance clients, as well as managing Insurdata’s Lloyd’s Lab programme.

Prior to her employment with Insurdata, Rosina worked at Allianz, where she delivered a UK-wide Geospatial solution, as well as location data strategies with Allianz entities across Europe.

As Head of Product at MIS, Rosina will work closely with the wider product team to deliver continued refinements and expansion of the MIS Intel portal, an agile software tool developed specifically for exposure management and claims delivering highly accurate and timely intelligence during and after catastrophic global events, as well as Custom Services offering for clients.

Rosina will also work closely with the team developing the MIS Global Events Observer (GEO). The GEO is currently being built using co-funding from the European Space Agency to deliver the next generation of MIS’ technology capability, which will supercharge MIS’ ability to collect and analyse highly accurate, geotagged external data from a huge range of space and ground sources.

Rosina Smith, MIS Head of Product said:

“I am hugely excited to be joining MIS. Having worked with CUOs in the past, I know how important it is to assess the exposure of an event quickly and accurately. Having this intelligence at your fingertips is vital.

The insurtech market in the UK is a vibrant and collaborative network to be a part of. It is made up of a range of skills and backgrounds, and although everyone is building different products and services, we all share the same ambition: to contribute to the industry’s success in this ever-changing environment.

The MIS team is ambitious, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and I am delighted to be working alongside such experts in this field.”

Forbes McKenzie, Chief Executive and Founder of MIS, said:

“Rosina is a high calibre, proven insurtech and open market expert and we are incredibly excited to be welcoming her to the MIS team.

The landscape of our industry has evolved rapidly over the last few years, but with change comes opportunity; and with this comes growth – something that we have always prided ourselves on. Our company ethos has always been to have the freedom and space to grow, to innovate, to share and explore ideas, and by working together as a team, we know our shared intelligence is our shared success.

MIS has grown exceptionally over the last few years, and we have attracted and retained some of the best talent in the industry; and with Rosina now a part of our team too, I am immensely excited to see what the next few years will bring.”

Since 2016, MIS has exclusively been the geospatial imagery and intelligence provider for Lloyd’s, its managing agents, TPAs and partners, providing access to invaluable exposure management and claims data following global events via the award-winning MIS-Intel Portal.
